Terms of Service

What we do

We provide monthly bookkeeping only. Each month we categorize and reconcile your transactions, send you one list of questions, and close your books by the 10th. We deliver a monthly financial package: a profit and loss statement, a balance sheet, and a cash summary with a few plain sentences about what changed.

What we do not do

• We do not run payroll.
• We do not prepare tax returns or give tax advice.
• We do not provide CFO or consulting work.
• We do not pay your bills or send your invoices unless we agree otherwise in writing.

If you need those services, we will say so and hand the clean books to the right person. Because your books are already clean, they start from a good place.

Fees and quotes

After a free 20-minute call, we send a fixed monthly quote in writing within one business day. If your books are behind, we quote the catch-up work separately before we start, then move you onto the fixed monthly fee once the past months are clean. The monthly fee covers the recurring work described above.

Term and cancellation

Our service is month to month. There is no long-term contract. Either side may stop with 30 days notice. You can cancel any month.

Your access and responsibilities

• You grant us read-only access to your accounting file and bank feeds through your accounting software. We do not move money and we never ask for your online banking password.
• You provide the accounts you use and any statements for months that are not yet connected, using the checklist we send after the call.
• You answer the one monthly list of questions so we can close on time. If answers are delayed, the close date may move with it.
• You keep full ownership of your books. Everything stays in your own accounting file, and you can remove our access at any time from your own settings.

Software

We work inside your existing QuickBooks Online or Xero file. If you have no software yet, we set one up for you. Any fees charged by your accounting software or its bank feed provider are separate and are yours to pay.

Your CPA

If you ask us to, we will answer your CPA's questions about the books and send clean reports at year end. We do not give tax advice. Your CPA remains responsible for tax filings and any tax decisions.

Limitation

Our work is limited to bookkeeping. We are not responsible for tax, legal or investment outcomes, or for decisions you make based on the reports. Our liability for bookkeeping errors is limited to the fees you paid us for the month in which the error occurred.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to work with us after a change means you accept the updated terms.
